US intelligence warns: – Hackers use cameras in Ukrainian cafes

Date:

According to the US, Russian hackers are even tapping private security cameras in Ukrainian cafes looking for information. This was to collect information about aid convoys passing in front of the cafes, according to a US intelligence official.

This is just one example of Russia’s ongoing cyber-attacks on Ukraine, That said NSA cybersecurity chief Rob Joyce Tuesday at a conference in Washington. The attacks would target every conceivable area.

As examples, Joyce cited “financial, government, individual and commercial areas.” The aim is to spy on and disrupt the processes in Ukraine.

One of the targets of the hacking attacks is private security cameras, Joyce said. “Instead of attacking a public square’s cameras, they use a coffee shop’s security cameras to monitor the street they want to spy on.”
