For the second time in five months, Casino Monte Laa in Vienna was the scene of a robbery. But it went horribly wrong…
A series of mishaps turned the second coup at the Bohemian Prater’s playroom in Favoriten into more of a Monday morning slapstick performance within a few months. For starters, the balaclava-masked gang of four who rushed out of the woods – two of the men with guns – found the doors locked just after 3am because the casino was already under curfew.
There were even shots
When they were spotted by the security guard of the Unger-Schaffer security company, the security guard grabbed his pistol and fired a warning shot. During the frantic escape, one of the clumsy robbers fell and lost his alarm pistol – with possibly mounds of DNA traces.
As reported, another pistolero stole more than 100,000 euros from the safe in mid-November. Despite a bounty of 4000 euros, this perpetrator is still on the run. The National Investigation Department is conducting an investigation.
