Several Carinthians have already died this year from a drug overdose. A young woman from Villach died last weekend from the consequences of her drug use. According to the police, the 33-year-old had been dependent for years.
The 33-year-old was found motionless by her partner in the bathroom of the shared apartment in Draustadt on Saturday evening. The alerted emergency doctor was able to resuscitate the woman, but she died in the early hours of the morning at the regional hospital in Villach. “Since the 33-year-old had been known to the detectives as a drug addict for many years and the cause of death was not certain, the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office ordered an autopsy,” says the directorate of the Carinthian state police.
This was done on Monday. “The preliminary result indicates a cause of death due to substance abuse,” said an official. A definitive result will only be known after the toxicological examination by forensic medicine, which will take some time.
