As confirmed by the company, this strategic agreement will “create a global leader in high-resolution electro-optical payloads for small satellites.
The Satlantis company has acquired 51% of British company SuperSharp, which develops deployable space telescopes to capture infrared thermal images of the Earth. “This is a historic agreement that will create a world leader in high-resolution electro-optical payloads for small satellites,” said the Basque digital camera company.
Thus, the aforementioned acquisition forms a strategic alliance with SuperSharp Space Systems Ltd. The agreement also provides for the establishment of a center of excellence for Space Optics Technologies in the UK to serve current and future customers.
Satlantis co-founder and CEO Juan Tomás Hernani emphasized that “both the UK and other international markets will benefit from these unique opportunities.”
