A motorist reported heels at a border control at the Carinthian Seebergsattel: the man got out of the car during the official procedure and ran towards Slovenia. When searching the car, the officers quickly found the reason for the escape.
The man was arrested by the agents on Sunday around 2:30 am with his car at the Seebergsattel border crossing. As the police officers began checking, the driver suddenly opened the driver’s door of his car, got out and ran back into Slovenian territory. The man was able to disappear into the darkness unnoticed.

When the car was searched – it is registered in Slovenia – the officers quickly realized why the driver had fled so quickly: a total of 5.5 kilos of cannabis was hidden behind the passenger seat. The drugs were packed in 550 gram bags. Further investigation and the search for the fugitive drug smuggler were taken up by the Slovenian authorities.
