CCOO and CSIF call the first strike at Social Security on September 7 due to lack of resources

CCOO and CSIF this Thursday released the call for the September 7 of a 24-hour strike in all social security centers, the first in the history of the organismbecause of the lack of troops, the delay in administering benefits and the general violation of employee contracts, as both unions have denounced.

In order to give continuity to the conflict after the calls for mobilizations and concentrations that began during the second half of 2022 and during the year 2023, they will also carry out partial strikes during the month of May, every Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.min the centers of the management entities and communal services of the Social Security.

The trade unions denounce the situation of a “deep-rooted conflict” in social security, which in their view shows that the “abandonment and decay” of one of the public services most demanded by citizens.

CSIF complains about the lack of measures for the human resources managementas well as everything related to remote work, work calendar, training, prevention, productivity, social action, providing jobs, applying for additional funds, internal promotion, partial retirement, job stability and public employment offerings.

CCOOFor his part, he deplored the “lack of will” of the Department for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration to reach a negotiated solution to the problems that affect both the working population and citizens as a whole: lack of staff, delays in appointments and recognition of benefits, closure of offices, as well as non-compliance with commitments related to the provision of functions, prevention of occupational risks, productivity, training or internal promotion.
