Fire alarm on Sunday evening in Amlach in East Tyrol! A fire broke out in a family home. A neighbor noticed the flames and was a lifesaver. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the building is not habitable for the time being.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the sirens are wailing in the municipality of Amlach. “When we got to the house, the building was already completely on fire,” says fire chief Michael Preyer. A neighbor noticed the fire and immediately activated the rescue chain, which woke up the woman and children sleeping in the apartment building and brought them outside.
No technical defect
The fire brigades of Amlach, Leisach, Tristach and Lienz were eventually able to extinguish the fire. No one was injured. “The fire probably broke out on the ground floor terrace facing southwest,” said the director after determining the cause of the fire on Sunday. A technical defect can be ruled out on the basis of the current results. “It can be assumed with a high probability of negligence,” the researchers said. The damage to the house is enormous. It is currently not habitable.
