On Sunday afternoon, a tragic traffic accident occurred in the Styrian district of Murtal with a car on the S36 in which the 66-year-old driver and his 63-year-old passenger were seriously injured.
At around 3:50 p.m., the Gleinalm motorway police inspectorate received a report of a traffic accident on the Murtal motorway (S36) in the direction of Klagenfurt. A 66-year-old motorist from the Murau district, probably due to a microsleep, left the right lane, broke through the wild fence, overturned the vehicle and finally came to a stop in an adjacent meadow.
The driver and his wife, who was in the passenger seat, were seriously injured in the accident. Both were taken to the LKH Judenburg with the rescue, the man was flown by helicopter to another hospital after the first aid. The city fire brigade of Aichdorf and Judenburg were deployed with six vehicles and 26 people.
