About 2.6 kilometers from Paralimni Beach, in southeastern Cyprus, Austrian professional diver Axel S. dived with a friend to a shipwreck at a depth of 100 metres. Basically a routine excursion for the red-white-red passionate professional scuba diver. But underwater, for some unknown reason, he had problems. S. was eventually found floating lifeless on the surface of the sea.
Wreck diving in particular was Axel S’s great passion. Especially since the 60-year-old emigrant knew the sea conditions around his adopted home island like the back of his hand and had decades of experience.
