On a protection path in Kematen, Tyrol, an eleven-year-old schoolboy was hit by a moped on Wednesday. Both the driver and the boy fell. The result was a rescue operation.
A 50-year-old Austrian drove his car on Bahnhofstrasse in the Kematen area toward the NMS Kematen around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday and stopped in front of a protective path to let his 11-year-old son get out. Another car stopped behind him.
Overtook two stationary cars
Behind this car, a 15-year-old Austrian woman also drove her motorcycle in the same direction. The moped rider passed both stationary vehicles on the left as the 11-year-old student pulled onto the protective path to cross.
Although the 15-year-old braked immediately, she was unable to stop the bike in time and grazed the student’s right leg with the front tire.
With rescue to the clinic
Both the student and the moped rider fell as a result and suffered minor injuries in this accident. While the 11-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Innsbruck clinic for examination, the 15-year-old went to her GP and was released after outpatient treatment.
