In a motorcycle accident on the Dobratsch in Carinthia, a 19-year-old man from Lower Austria was thrown through the air on Sunday and crashed into a rock. The man was seriously injured.
The 19-year-old was speeding on his motorcycle. In the last bend before the last car park No. 11 on the Dobratsch (municipality of Bad Bleiberg), he could no longer brake in time and collided with the crash barrier. As a result, the driver was catapulted headfirst over the guardrail, flipped over several times and also hit a boulder. He then remained injured on the slope 30 meters from the scene of the accident.
A friend of the victim immediately started the rescue chain and took over first aid. The rescue helicopter RK 1 team then took over further care. The injured were flown to the LKH Villach. The motorcycle showed only minor damage.
