The alleged attack is said to have taken place around 8 p.m. on Saturday evening. “Based on previous findings, the 35-year-old Austrian is suspected several times on the street in Imst with his hands on the body and face of his wife who was lying on the ground,” the police reported on Wednesday.
Injured woman taken to hospital
A witness who happened to pass by immediately made the emergency call and provided first aid. After first aid was provided, the injured woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Zams.
Defendant has not confessed
Both the suspect and his wife were apparently heavily intoxicated. In the course of further investigation, the 35-year-old made no confession during a survey earlier this week. “He was taken to Innsbruck prison,” the investigators concluded.
