Ex-Burg actor Florian Teichtmeister (43) was sentenced to two years’ probation at the Regional Criminal Court in Vienna on Tuesday. The verdict led to much discussion. The 43-year-old told the court that he already had a job offer. However, that no longer exists, his lawyer Rudolf Mayer announced on Friday.
“Teichtmeister had a non-binding commitment, which of course took into account the outcome of the trial. However, after the texts were read out by the court, this offer is now invalid,” the lawyer told the “Krone” on Friday evening.
Teichtmeister: Kcan think of any kind of work
Teichtmeister said in court on Tuesday that he had no desire to be in the public eye again or to work as an actor. He can imagine any type of work and is also a trained cultural manager.
ORF remains under Teichtmeister’s ban even after the ruling
Furthermore, the ORF will not continue to broadcast productions in which the ex-castle actor, who has been legally convicted for possessing and producing tens of thousands of files with images of abuse of children and young people, appears. The public media company announced this on Thursday. The ORF has been managing this line since the case became known at the beginning of this year.
Since then, a crime thriller with Teichtmeister as an actor has only been broadcast once in the night program. At the time it was said that this happened incorrectly due to an “administrative error”. Marie Kreutzer’s award-winning film ‘Corsage’ could be a test for the broadcast ban. In it, Teichtmeister plays Emperor Franz Joseph. However, as usual with cinema films, the film will not be shown on TV for a while.
Teichtmeister was sentenced to two years’ probation on Tuesday. So he is a free man. Furthermore, according to the legally binding judgment, the 43-year-old must comply with strict instructions from the court; in return, his placement in a forensic therapeutic center was subject to five years’ probation. Alcohol and drug tests every two months
The court ordered Teichtmeister to continue the psychotherapy he started in 2021, continue to undergo intensive psychiatric treatment for his pedophilia and collect prohibited material on the internet. Between 2008 and 2021, Teichtmeister collected images of abused children and young people and modified a significant number of the files – around 35,000 – by creating collages or slideshows or adding text annotations to the material. In addition, Teichtmeister must prove to the court every two months, without being asked, that he will not continue to use alcohol or drugs.
