According to Euskadi Irratia, when they noticed the quake, they ran out of the hotel, “with everything they were carrying” and went to a large square in the center of Marrakech, together with hundreds of citizens. They were “very scared”: “We thought the hotel was going to fall on us; we didn’t know if it was an earthquake or an attack.” He says that “the team has been good”, we all did well and we calmed each other down, but the chaos was enormous. People running, people screaming, families looking for the children.” The flow of ambulances has been constant at night and, according to Urribarren, is still the case now. “It Was Crazy”.
They were not allowed to enter the hotel until sunrise to search for their belongings. When they came in this morning, they were stunned by what they saw. They found cracks and broken glass everywhere.
