American economist Claudia Goldin has been awarded the Bank of Swedish Prize for Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel, popularly known as the Nobel Prize in Economics, as announced on Monday by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
“The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Bank of Swedish Economic Sciences Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2023 to Professor Claudia Goldin of the Harvard University‘, the Academy announced minutes before noon.
In its announcement, the Swedish institute highlighted Goldin’s contribution to advancing understanding of labor market outcomes for women.
