Klagenfurt is currently the only state capital in Austria without an indoor swimming pool – and if rumors are to be believed, it could remain that way for a long time. Because the opening of the new swimming pool is shaky. Or? We asked operator Stadtwerke boss Erwin Smole.
The situation is not worthy of a state capital: school trips to the indoor swimming pool have been cancelled, swimming courses cannot take place and there are currently no swimming training sessions in Klagenfurt. The affected children and young people must go to Villach or St. Veit an der Glan. Driving is in any case supported by the city of Klagenfurt and the state of Carinthia, but the time requirement remains. It will probably take several months before the new indoor swimming pool is built. Critics even think that nothing will come of the opening. What is true about the rumors?
