With a large contingent of emergency services, the long arm of the law stormed a seedy coffee house in the Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus district on September 22. Once there, officials from the financial police, local government and municipal council were amazed. In addition to a waitress with false French documents – obviously without a proper work permit – two tablets were found at the crime scene on which illegal gambling could be proven.
Moreover, the emergency services discovered the prohibited activities based on a report from an informant and further forensic analysis: “Thanks to the successful cooperation of several authorities, numerous violations came to light in this case, which even resulted in the closure of the bar,” explained Finance Minister Magnus Brunner.
Local lockdown and execution
Further investigation revealed that the operator did not have the necessary business permit for the café. The 33-year-old Austrian was banned from further surgery and dozens of reports are expected in the future. As if all this were not enough, the authorities also discovered extensive tax arrears and an enforcement order was quickly issued. True to the famous roulette motto: “Rien ne va plus” – nothing works anymore!
