“Der Standard” has found a new editor-in-chief: Gerold Riedmann will join the daily newspaper from April 2024. The 46-year-old Vorarlberger has been editor-in-chief of “Vorarlberger Nachrichten” and director of Russmedia since 2015. He succeeds Martin Kotynek, who led the editorial team for six years and left with management due to different perspectives on “best terms”.

According to a report in the online ‘Standaard’, the editors have already been informed about the personnel decision. Nana Siebert, Petra Stuiber and Rainer Schüller will lead the editorial team as a team until April. “Standard” publisher Oscar Bronner sees Riedmann as a “passionate editor and experienced media manager with a high level of digital competence.”
