After the fatal accident on the protection path in front of the Haselstauden primary school in Dornbirn, the members of the citizens’ initiative spoke out loudly in favor of a safe Haselstauden. They have been fighting for years for speed reduction in the areas of churches, kindergartens, primary schools, local suppliers and inns.
There are no fewer than eight protection routes between the traffic lights at the former Hämmerle building and the intersection area of the L33/L49 – four of which are in the center area. In the past, serious accidents have occurred repeatedly at zebra crossings and depending on the traffic situation and the time of day, motorists are more or less concerned about the 40 km/h limit that was imposed some time ago. The “Voluntary 30” sign is completely ignored. Truck and bus drivers sometimes travel quite fast too.
