Patient also on board – truck collides with rescue vehicle: four occupants injured

Fatal accident on Wednesday in Erpfendorf in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel! An emergency car had to stop on Salzburger Straße due to traffic congestion. A truck driver following behind saw this too late and crashed into the vehicle. The crash injured four people.

The accident happened around 2:40 p.m. The rescue vehicle drove along Salzburger Straße B178 from St. Johann towards Lofer. The car was driven by a 35-year-old resident. There were two other paramedics and a patient in the car. “The driver of the rescue car had to brake because a car drove into the driveway of a house,” police said.

Four people slightly injured
A truck driver following behind was unable to stop in time, causing a rear-end collision. While the driver of the truck escaped without injury, the four occupants of the rescue vehicle suffered minor injuries. There was significant damage to both vehicles. The road had to be completely closed for about twenty minutes.

The Erpfendorf volunteer fire brigade was on duty with three vehicles and twelve emergency services, two ambulances, an emergency vehicle, a rescue operations manager and three police patrols.
