An official action by police officers in a residential building in Linz completely escalated on Wednesday afternoon. A violent man threatened the officers with an ax and then hit them with a wooden handle. Two police officers were injured and taken to hospital.
A police patrol in Linz-Kleinmünchen only wanted to secure the license plate of a born Bosnian (33) on official orders. After opening the door of the apartment, the man immediately became very aggressive and loudly insulted the uniformed officers. When he tried to slam the door again, an officer put his foot in.
Wooden handle as a weapon
The 33-year-old suddenly pulled out an ax and attacked the police officers in a wildly threatening manner. They retreated to Stiegenhaus. But when the man from Linz saw another patrol outside his window, he insulted the officers and came out with a wooden handle in his hand. Support was requested in the form of the Rapid Intervention Group (SIG 41).
Injured to hospital
Despite using a Taser, the Bosnian injured two police officers with his baton. They had to be treated in hospital. It wasn’t until the third use of the Taser that the brutal man finally gave up. Blackjacks, a baseball bat, a baton, several knives, an ax and cannabis were seized from his apartment. The arrested man was taken to the Linz police detention center.
