Most people in this country already know that you have to be careful about how and what they record with surveillance cameras – only your own property or your own front door is allowed –: “From § 16 ABGB, according to which every human being has innate rights that already be clear to reason “Every person has a general right to respect for their private and secret sphere,” explains lawyer Martin Bleckmann. “It follows that systematic video surveillance – for example by neighbors – normally constitutes an impermissible interference with these rights. The result is an order that can be enforced in court.” But that means that even with a smart doorbell you have to be careful.
