A Halloween party in the American city of Chicago escalated completely on Sunday evening. When one man was denied entry, he began shooting into the crowd. Fifteen people were injured and two people’s lives were in danger.
The incident took place in the West Side neighborhood. According to CBC News, an argument broke out in the back of a bar. The situation got completely out of hand when a visitor was no longer allowed to enter the building because the DJ had indicated that the party would be over soon.
The shooter was arrested shortly after the crime
“They told him he couldn’t get in. He must have gone to his car, came back and started shooting,” an eyewitness described the situation. The 15 victims were between 26 and 53 years old. A 26-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were taken to hospital in critical condition. The shooter was arrested within a short time and the firearm was confiscated.
It was the second time this weekend that multiple people were injured by gunfire — Saturday morning, three men were injured and a woman suffered life-threatening injuries as they left a party, also on the West Side.
