Nights in the open air – reunion with mountain rescuers: “I am so grateful”

Date:

Missing for days and enduring several freezing nights on the mountain: it is a miracle that Kris Minne was found alive on Sunday morning in the Tyrolean Karwendel Mountains. Now the Belgian was visited by his rescuers Fred Wallenta and Stefan Brandl from the Schwaz mountain rescue service in the hospital. The tears flowed when we saw each other again. The ‘crown’ was there.

As reported, the so-called Vomper Loch swallowed the 55-year-old Mechelen for three days and nights. With a body temperature of 32 (!) degrees, the lawyer was crouching by a stream when he was discovered and rescued by the Libelle Tirol police helicopter with mountain rescuers Stefan Brandl and Ferdl Wildauer. On Tuesday, Kris Minne was able to laugh – and cry – again in the Schwaz hospital.
