On Wednesday around 11 a.m., the police were called to an apartment in an apartment building in the Gries district of Graz. A 45-year-old Iraqi woman and her son (14) were attacked with a knife in their apartment by a 31-year-old Romanian woman. They were able to escape to the basement and wait there until the police arrived.
The suspect wanted to hide knives
The 31-year-old was still in the apartment when police arrived and was immediately arrested. Initially, she tried to hide the knife she had taken with her in the crime in the apartment, but it was quickly found and the woman was transferred to the Graz police detention center.
The motive for the crime has yet to be determined, but it is known that the suspect has a warrant pending. The 45-year-old suffered several lacerations as a result of the attack but did not require medical attention.
