For release – Hamas hostages: Qatar wants to mediate

Date:

According to its emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar is trying to mediate the release of the hostages kidnapped from Israel by Hamas.

He hopes that a humanitarian ceasefire will soon be reached in the Gaza Strip, Sheikh Tamim said at the Islamic-Arab summit in Riyadh. “The international community has failed to meet its legal and ethical responsibilities.” He added: “How long will the international community treat Israel as if it were above international law?”

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called on Muslim countries to impose oil and commodity sanctions against Israel. “There is no other way than to oppose Israel,” Raisi said. He praised the radical Islamic Hamas for its war against Israel. “We kiss the hands of Hamas for its opposition to Israel.”

Abbas calls for protection of the Palestinians
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for international protection of the population in view of the Israeli attacks. She is facing an “unprecedented genocidal war.” He called on the US to put pressure on Israel to stop its offensive in the Gaza Strip.

Egypt against ‘forced relocation’
Egypt reiterated its opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said in Riyadh that anything aimed at “forcibly moving Palestinians” to places “outside their land” must be stopped. He called for “the establishment of an independent Palestinian state” with “the 1967 borders” and with “East Jerusalem as its capital.”

An “immediate and lasting ceasefire” should also be introduced in the Gaza Strip. The international community must fulfill its responsibility to “guarantee the safety of innocent civilians of the Palestinian people.”
