This year, the fight continues for a solution to the stalled collective labor agreement negotiations in the retail sector. The seventh round of negotiations will take place on the Wednesday after Christmas, on December 27, from 2:30 p.m., the union announced on Friday.
This should prevent a salary agreement for the approximately 430,000 store employees from being finalized until the new year. That would be a novelty.
The last round of negotiations failed after ten hours
The union calls for a staggered salary agreement between 8.48 and 9.38 percent. The employers’ last offer was 8 percent. A week ago, the sixth round of negotiations failed after almost ten hours.
Afterwards, warning strikes and public actions took place throughout Austria, lasting until Friday (December 22).
