A house fire broke out on Fröhlichgasse in Graz on Thursday evening around 9 p.m. Two people were injured.
According to the police, the cause of the fire is still unclear. But the apartment in a residential building on the fifth floor was completely on fire within a very short time, with flames shooting out of the windows.
72-year-old woman rescued
A 72-year-old woman had to be rescued from the apartment using a turntable ladder. All other residents of the house on Fröhlichgasse also had to leave the building.
Two residents in hospital
The 72-year-old and another 60-year-old were taken to the Graz State Hospital by the Austrian Red Cross with suspected smoke poisoning. The fire was completely extinguished by the fire brigade at 9.51 pm.
