Caritas and “Krone” have “flipped the Advent calendar” this year to support people in need in Austria. Many people followed our call and gave a small donation every day to people affected by poverty. For that we say thank you, dear readers!
“I liked the idea of the reverse Advent calendar so much that I presented it as a small Advent campaign in our company chat,” says Andrea. Like the woman from Linz and her colleagues, many people took part in the campaign of ‘Krone’ and Caritas.
A small (sustainable) gift every day
Whether families, school classes, kindergarten groups, clubs or companies – instead of taking something out of an Advent calendar every day, they all put a little something in a box or box every day. In this way they support people in Austria who are affected by poverty.
Food, heating items, etc. were donated
“We have food and hygiene products on our agenda, but also children’s toothbrushes, sweets and socks,” says Michi, who recently registered in the füreinand’ network. The Reverse Advent Calendar is an initiative as part of our major aid campaign “A Spark of Warmth” – together with füreinand’, the Austrian Community for Humanity of Caritas, “Krone” and kronehit.
Caritas and “Krone” thank you for your support
“Krone” publisher Christoph Dichand, editor-in-chief Klaus Herrmann, “Funkenwärme” patron Barbara Stöckl and Caritas Vienna director Klaus Schwertner would like to thank them for their participation and the thousands of donations, which provide concrete help to many people in need.
4,500 Advent calendars are expected
“Based on registrations so far, we expect that approximately 4,500 reverse Advent calendars will be distributed to Caritas facilities throughout Austria,” says Schwertner happily.
Filled boxes can be delivered to 122 locations throughout Austria – even after the holidays until the end of January. Detailed information about the delivery points can be found at fuereinand.at or on the Caritas hotline on 05/177 63 00 (Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm).
