With 28 consecutive defeats, the Detroit Pistons basketball players have already set a negative record in the NBA, and a new record is looming. With 9:73, the Philadelphia 76ers from the 1972/73 season have the worst record in history. But it’s hard to imagine that the Pistons, who are currently 3:33 up, won’t beat that. The ‘crown’ found a small number of teams that also impressed as iconic losers.
- Tasmania Berlin In football it is almost synonymous with failure. In 1965/66, the club from the German capital completed its only season in the top division. It was a devastating event that can still claim virtually all of German football’s negative records. Of the 34 matches, Tasmania managed to win only two and there were four draws. The goal difference of 15:108 (i.e. more than three goals conceded per match!) is low, as is the highest home defeat in the history of the Bundesliga, a 0:9 against Meidericher SV and the only 827 fans at the home game against Mönchengladbach on 15 January 1966.
