Fire alarm Sunday evening in Reutte in Ausserfern, Tyrol: A moped suddenly caught fire in a garage on the grounds of an apartment complex. A resident called the fire brigade after hearing a loud bang and noticing smoke.
Shortly after 8 p.m. the fire broke out in the garage in the South Tyrolean settlement of Reutten. The moped of a 16-year-old may have caught fire due to a defect, the police reported on Monday.
„The fire detector heard a loud bang. “As a result, he discovered the fire in the garage and immediately alerted the emergency services,” investigators say.
Fire quickly under control
Neighbors and passers-by then tried to fight the fire with fire extinguishers until emergency services arrived. Ultimately, the Reutte fire brigade was able to quickly get the situation under control and extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, no one was injured. The extent of the damage caused cannot yet be quantified. The Reutte fire brigade was present with four vehicles and thirty men.
