A dispute between a truck driver and his companion led to a Cobra deployment in a parking lot in Wörgl, Tyrol (Kufstein district) on Wednesday afternoon. The woman, covered in blood and slightly injured, fled into a gas station store; the man then barricaded himself in his truck and may have injured himself.
Around 2 p.m., the woman suddenly found herself covered in blood in the gas station shop in the Wörgl-West industrial area. “There had previously been a physical altercation in the parking lot between a Romanian truck driver and his companion, who was also Romanian,” police said. An employee of the gas station immediately raised the alarm. Several police patrols, the Cobra task force and the West Negotiation Group of the LPD Tirol immediately rushed to the scene.
The man injured himself with a knife
The man locked himself in his truck. “Around 4 p.m., emergency services were finally able to get him to leave the vehicle himself,” the director said. However, he had clearly suffered a significant stab wound with a knife immediately before and had to be flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by emergency helicopter. “Further investigation into the incident is currently underway,” the investigators explain.
