A 37-year-old Austrian has now died in a traffic accident in Sri Lanka. He collided with a truck in a van. Two people were also injured in the traffic accident: the victim’s 60-year-old mother and the truck driver.
The two were taken to a hospital. The accident occurred on the way to Bandarainake International Airport in Katunayake, from where the 37-year-old and his mother were traveling home. The driver of the van collided with a truck on a highway in the Kerawalapitiya area.
The background was initially unknown. The Foreign Ministry confirmed “the death of an Austrian citizen in a traffic accident.”
