Lost contact – Nepal: plane with 22 people on board missing

Date:

A plane with 22 people on board is missing in Nepal. According to authorities, there are also two Germans on board the Tara Air machine. Air traffic control lost contact with the machine shortly before 10 a.m. shortly after takeoff from Pokkara, a police spokesman said. A search was launched.

The plane, carrying 19 passengers and three crew members, was on a domestic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom in the Annapurna region. Apparently there would also be two Germans on the plane.

Nepal’s interior ministry said two helicopters had been dispatched to search for the Twin Otter plane. However, visibility in the area is very poor, which could hamper the search.
