After a rather “cold” weekend with clouds, rain and even snowflakes in the mountains, summer can be seen in Austria again in the new week. Temperatures continue to rise from day to day – as high as 30 degrees from Thursday. Thunderstorms and showers remain game-breakers.
On Monday, at least in the east of the country, the day started sunnier than last time, but from the morning the sky in the west was already cloudy and showers gradually came. It will most likely remain dry in the north and east of the country. Temperatures remain somewhat moderate, reaching 21 degrees.
Similar game on Tuesday: sun in the east, clouds and rain in the west. The risk of thunderstorms is gradually increasing in the mountains, but also in other parts of Austria. A lot of sun can be expected, especially in the south and southeast. It will be slightly warmer than last time, with temperatures up to 26 degrees.
June starts with sunshine
On June 1, the sun will spread out in Austria on Wednesday. Only in the mountains in the west of Austria are clouds disturbing, which can also cause showers and isolated thunderstorms. The thermometer sign climbs slightly higher compared to the day before: up to 28 degrees is possible.
Risk of storms increasing
On Thursday, the 30 degrees could be cracked for the first time. In the north, however, thunderstorms have been mixed since morning – first in the mountains, before the clouds can move further into the lowlands. According to the storm center, the chance of storms increases locally: gusts of wind and hail are possible.
Rain in the west, sun and heat in the east
Friday presents itself in two parts: After a sunny start across the country, more clouds are gathering in the west, which could bring down showers and thunderstorms. In the southeast and east you have better luck – it stays warm and sunny here. Temperatures rise to 31 degrees.
The weekend will also be summery, but also changeable. While temperatures in the north and west slowly drop, the rest of the country remains hot, but also muggy – including the possibility of sometimes violent thunderstorms.
