Prosecutor’s allegations – Pekny: Images of abuse, including small children

Date:

On February 8, a once dazzling figure from the cultural scene will once again appear in court for recovering child and youth pornography. Austrian Thomas Pekny, ex-director of the comedy at the Bavarian court in Munich, faces a prison sentence of up to three years if convicted by the Munich regional court. The Crown’s accusations are disgusting.

Exactly one year to the day after the original trial date of ex-Burg actor Florian Teichtmeister, an Austrian with roots in the theater world has to appear in criminal court for access to child and youth pornography. On February 8, Thomas Pekny, former comedy director at the Bavarian court, will be tried in Munich. The 71-year-old, who also worked as a set designer at the state theaters in Linz and Salzburg, is presumed innocent.

Thumbnails are saved in the browser
The charges are serious: during a house search on suspicion of sexual abuse of people who could not resist, a laptop was seized from the Linz resident in November 2021. The researchers found exploit files stored in a section of the Safari web browser. These were generated and stored at a total of 23 different times between May 2019 and March 2021.

According to the indictment of the Munich Public Prosecutor I, Pekny ensured that the data was transferred – while at the same time the corresponding thumbnail images were stored in the temporary section of the web browser.

Girls of preschool age
Accordingly, there are 93 child pornography files documenting sexual abuse of children under the age of 14. In the indictment, the Public Prosecution Service lists the shocking contents of some of these files. Particularly disgusting: Some of the seized files document the abuse of small children. In one case the StA speaks of a two to four year old girl, in three other cases of four to six year old victims. All 93 files would show similar content.

Prosecutors say another 48 files involve youth pornographic content documenting abuse against victims who were over 14 but not yet 18 at the time of the crime. If convicted, the son of a castle actor and a stage actress could face a prison sentence of up to three years or a fine.
