Natra workers decide to continue the strikes until Easter

Date:

The chocolate company’s unions have been negotiating the extension of the agreement for more than a year. Staff take breaks every four hours during each shift.

The workers of the Natra company in Oñati (Gipuzkoa), who supported the second strike day for this week on Thursday, have decided to continue the mobilizations and carry out four-hour strikes in every shift until Easter.

ELA, which has eight of the company’s 13 union representatives, has been negotiating for more than a year to extend the agreement of this company dedicated to the production of chocolate and which has 300 employees, the union said in a statement.

The head office assures that management “does not show any willingness to negotiate” and criticizes that, when the mobilizations began, it took measures to “punish” the staff, such as “denying some permits”, “not renewing contracts” and “reducing breaks”. “.

The workers are demanding, among other things, “decent wage increases”, “guaranteeing the aid contract” and “stability in contracts”.

For its part, LAB said in a statement that management “wants to introduce four-shift work all year round” and plans to “use the childcare contract as blackmail” and “refuses to shield the agreement from labor reforms.”
