Another serious industrial accident took place in a forest in Upper Austria on Friday. A 47-year-old slipped while working with wood and fell into the running chainsaw. She was still able to call for help herself.
The 47-year-old from Munderfing was doing woodwork on his own property in the Kobernausserwald on Friday. Around 2:30 p.m., the farmer suddenly slipped on the impassable terrain and fell. The running chainsaw struck the woman’s left forearm.
Husband provided first aid
The injured person was able to call her husband for help, who immediately provided first aid, initiated the rescue chain and took his wife in the tractor to a nearby inn. The woman was then flown to the accident hospital in Salzburg with the rescue helicopter “Europe 3”.
