Tuesday started with a huge shock for two students in Reichraming: on their way to school, they discovered a male corpse entangled in a stream under a footbridge. To rule out foul play, the Steyr prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
The fire brigade and school principal responded quickly after the gruesome discovery; the children probably didn’t even realize they had discovered a body. To rule out foul play, the Steyr prosecutor ordered an autopsy.
No foul play
The result was clear on Thursday afternoon. “The man drowned and no evidence of foul play could be found,” said prosecutor Andreas Pechatschek. The body did have a crack on the head, but this was probably caused by a fall. How the victim – reportedly a 62-year-old from Lower Austria – ended up in the stream can only be guessed.
