Mother, father and son lost three pets and also their home in Burgenland. Currently you can find peace and relaxation in the village inn.
Imagine coming home after a long day at work and realizing that nothing is the same anymore. The house you left in the morning has burned down and is no longer habitable. And three out of nine pets are dead, victims of a fire that no one wants to notice.
The student was the first on the scene
For Nadine and Mike S., two truck drivers from Eltendorf, this idea became reality on Thursday evening. According to his son Elvin, when he came home around 5 p.m., smoke was already coming from the building. The student alerts the fire brigade and calls for the five dogs and four cats that are in the house and garden while the family is away. Some animals follow his call.
FIRST AID
Emergency services were only able to rescue two 15-month-old dogs named “Maddox” and “Gipsy” and a dead cat from the burning living room. Since then, the S. family has been staying in the village inn and hopes to find a new home soon. Staying with friends or spending the night in a caravan is only an emergency solution.
The cause of the fire has now been clarified; the fire was caused by a defective heater in the hallway.
