Four people were injured in a serious accident on Vienna’s S1 highway near Schwechat in the Bruck an der Leitha district on Friday evening. Shortly after the rest stop, a driver drove his vehicle off the road for unknown reasons and subsequently collided with a traffic sign.
Minor injuries
The occupants were lucky: contrary to initial assumptions that people were trapped in the car during the crash, all occupants emerged from the heavily damaged wreck with only minor injuries, according to information from the Schwechat fire brigade.
They were treated by emergency services and the vehicle was recovered by their comrades. Just a few hours earlier, an accident had occurred on the same stretch of road.
