A 21-year-old law student wants to use his candidacy to draw attention to grievances at Lodron University in Salzburg, Paris. According to the announcement, there is nothing against his candidacy.
Simon Kern is studying law, but at 21, the representative of the Young Liberal Students (Junos) is still one of the academic rookies. That did not stop the native of Lower Austria from applying for the position of rector at the University of Salzburg. Paris Lodron University has been leaderless since October 1. As is known, the search for a new boss ended in chaos.
“The whole process is a complete farce. We students can do that better,” says Kern, who submitted his application documents to the university. Kern has included a 20-point plan in which he calls for a library with 24-hour access, many courses even during the holidays and more student flats to reduce rental costs.
Kern’s chances of getting the job are virtually zero. “I want to come to the hearing and make a statement,” Kern said.
