“Franz was a kind-hearted person. You couldn’t have argued with him.” With this statement, the stepdaughter and four brothers and sisters of the stabbed Franz (82) entered the jury room in Ried/I. The responsibility of the 24-year-old suspect, who at the time of the crime was still a man, is seriously shocked. The nurse, who was addressed as “Vanessa” at the request of everyone – except the expert Adelheid Kastner – stated that she had called her protégé in October of the previous year in Geretsberg, who was paralyzed on one side and bedridden after a stroke. who she called ‘Grandpa’, stabbed her with two knives while she was high on 3.6 per mille, because he sexually harassed her and argued with her about chocolate and beer and the unloaded razor. “I was with Dad the day of the crime, like almost every day, and he thought the razor thing was funny because it left a few hairs standing on end,” the stepdaughter says through tears. “There was no arguing with ‘Vanessa’.”
“Only I knew she was a man”
Only she in the family knew that the Slovakian nurse was actually a nurse, not even the later victim. “I didn’t tell anyone that to protect ‘Vanessa’ because maybe she didn’t want to.” And it didn’t matter to me, I accepted her as a woman.’ The two siblings, who reported a harmonious relationship with Franz, never doubted the nurse’s femininity, who was always heavily made up and “neatly dressed.” “.

“I told one of the nurses that I was transsexual,” said “Vanessa” and she said the nurse then informed the nurse and Franz began teasing and groping the trans nurse. But the sisters both denied this and were obliged to tell the truth.

Expert Adelheid Kastner, who addressed the suspect as a man because there was a breast implant but no other attempts to become a woman, diagnosed a personality disorder and placed “Vanessa” in the second highest dangerous class – the risk of recidivism was within ten years at 82 percent. The psychiatrist identified a telephone argument between ‘Vanessa’ and her boyfriend in Slovakia as a likely trigger for the crime and, due to her personality structure, she took out her anger on her protégé.

“He was the valve,” said prosecutor Petra Stranzinger, who reported 12 stab wounds: four in the chest, one in the stomach and seven in the head. The relatives who watched the trial in the audience fought back tears when they heard that a knife had even broken off and that the blade had once penetrated the skull: “That shows the cruelty.”
‘Vanessa’ remained motionless, but trembled when she heard that she was ‘getting nothing done in life’, only drug and alcohol abuse was consistent. Stays in psychiatric hospitals were as incomprehensible as the diagnosis of schizophrenia or borderline syndrome.
