Russian offensive – expert on Putin: “He is missing 300,000 soldiers”

Date:

Two years after the start of the war in Ukraine: the Russian army needs more soldiers for a major offensive. Is there now a threat of another mobilization? Eastern Europe expert Alexander Dubowy is an experienced advisor in international politics, has worked in Moscow for a long time and explains in the krone.tv lecture what consequences further mobilizations would have for Russia.

According to the expert, re-elected Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin needs “at least 300,000 additional troops” for a new major offensive by Russia in Ukraine. This means: a new mobilization is imminent.

Mobilization means Russian refugees and labor market problems
According to Dubowy, this would have serious consequences for Russia. You can assume that “even more people will leave Russia. This has consequences for social cohesion and the labor market.” Russia is already experiencing “a huge shortage of executives and enormous problems in the labor market.” But Ukraine “also has a shortage of soldiers and they should be And: without further supplies of ammunition and weapons, Ukraine “will not be able to hold out for long” against the Russian attacks.

Why Russia is now the target of Islamic terror
But it is not just the war that worries Russia. The shock after the IS terrorist attack remains deep. The country has not yet recovered from the Islamic State’s attack on the Moscow concert hall. The next terrorist threat already exists. Dubowy said: “Why Russia has now become the center of terrorism is, on the one hand, Russia’s strong involvement in the Syrian war on the side of dictator Bashar al-Assad, but also the very friendly relationship of Russia with the Taliban, who are designated enemies of IS. That is, there will be no change in Vladimir Putin’s policy in this regard. And in that regard, the Russian people are obviously in the greatest danger.”

“Protector” Putin: a danger to his people
Putin’s propaganda as ‘protector of Russia’ is also increasingly crumbling. ‘He came as the strong man who promised safety. The Russian people have exchanged their freedom for this. And now? Vladimir Putin can no longer guarantee anything,” says Eastern Europe expert Alexander Dubowy.
