One of the accusers of the alleged irregularities discovered in the Osakidetza OPE, who is an anesthesiologist at Alto Deba hospital, has quit his job “due to pressure from management”as reported by the ESK union, allegations denied by the Ministry of Health.
This center has reported that in addition to the anesthetist Roberto Sánchez, who was one of those who gave the alleged exam leaks in said OPE, another specialist from this health center, namely a doctor of preventive medicine, also canceled her long-term interim contract “after years of pressure and intimidation”.
In a statement, ESK denounces the “systematic extortion” suffered by health workers in the Gipuzkoa region of Debagoiena, which “caused the departure of qualified professionals” from Alto Deba Hospital in Arrasate.
“Debagoiena cannot afford not to leave behind professionals who are willing and committed to the Valley because they do not submit to the precepts of a management that pressures and harass those who practice their profession with criteria and a calling to to be of service”, denounces ESK, which demands “immediate cessation”. from the center’s medical director and calls for a protest demonstration in front of the hospital next Monday.
Osakidetza denies the allegations
The Ministry of Health has responded to these allegations and has assured that “it is” absolutely not true that no OSI Debagoiena professional is discriminated against or extorted” and that Osakidetza “treats all his employees equally”.
“The working conditions of the more than 38,000 people who make up Osakidetza’s current workforce are subject to the same rules and rights, as well as obligations,” explains the department, which has expressed its support for the OSI Debagoiena management team.
