Suspended from having his driver’s license, a truck driver quickly rammed into the office of a US government agency. Several people were injured and the driver was arrested.
The Department of Public Safety is located in the office building in Brenham, Texas, where, among other things, driver’s licenses are issued. As the New York Times reports, the truck driver applied for a commercial driver’s license but was denied.
“Clearly on purpose”
He then rammed the office with his truck. “He clearly entered the building on purpose,” Justice Department Judge Mark Keough wrote on Facebook.
The truck is said to have been stolen
The exact number of injured is unclear. The vehicle is also believed to be a stolen truck. Video recordings on social networks show the heavily loaded trailer and the tractor. The building was severely damaged.
The angry driver was arrested on the spot and is in pre-trial detention.
