Because of “propaganda” – Germany: Varoufakis is no longer allowed to enter the country

Date:

Former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis was expected to be one of the top speakers at the controversial ‘Palestine Congress’ in Berlin last weekend. But the police intervened. The politician is now no longer allowed to enter Germany.

Entry bans were also issued against other scheduled speakers. “To prevent anti-Semitic and anti-Israel propaganda during the event, several entry bans were imposed, including one against Varoufakis,” security sources said.

The former Minister of Finance and chairman of the Diem25 party even spoke of a “ban on activities”, which meant that he was not allowed to participate in political events via video connection. It concerns a “ban on all political activities,” he wrote on Platform X. However, in security circles there is only talk of an entry ban. This is regulated in the European Union’s Freedom of Movement Act.

Process resolved
As reported, German police dissolved the “Palestinian Congress” after about two hours on Friday (see video above). The reason for this was a video message from a man who has been banned from political activities in Germany because of hate speech against Jews. According to the Berlin Senate for the Interior, there are groups behind the congress that are boycotting Israel. Some of them also deny Hamas atrocities and describe terrorists as “resistance fighters.”

However, no criminal statements were reportedly made at the start of the congress. The organizer stated that he had no knowledge of the speaker’s ban on political activities. The event was originally scheduled to last until Sunday. On Saturday, numerous people demonstrated against the dissolution.
