According to the Austrian Severe Weather Center (uwz), the first storms are already raging in Austria: in the afternoon, heavy crashes are likely to occur in Salzburg, in the regions of Zell am See and Sankt Johann im Pongau, but also in Lower Austria. in the Baden, Neukirchen and Wiener Neustadt.

But hail and thunderstorms are also expected soon in Burgenland, especially in the Eisenstadt area, as well as in Styria in Liezen and Bruck-Mürzzuschlag.
Weather change at the beginning of the week
The cause of the significant weather change on Monday is a cold front coming from the northwest. However, it will still be warm on Monday and temperatures will only drop noticeably again on Tuesday.
Ternitz was surprised by the hail early on Monday afternoon. A thunder cell has already formed above Saalfelden. There are already reports of hail in Neunkirchen. According to information from uwz, the storm is now heading towards Mattersburg.
It will be considerably colder on Tuesday
On Tuesday the sky will probably remain cloudy and showers will continue, in the south the rain will increase and then it will rain persistently and sometimes heavily from Upper Carinthia to the industrial area. The highest temperatures will probably be in Tyrol and Vorarlberg with a maximum of 13 degrees. However, only 7 degrees can be expected in Styria on Tuesday.
