Three vehicle occupants had a breakdown on the Loiblpass on the afternoon of work. Her car plunged headfirst into a stream bed. Ferlach’s fire chief Ingemar Ulbricht was one of the first on the scene of the accident.

“I was driving the snow plow on the Loiblpass section of road when the operation took place,” Ulbricht said in an interview with the “Krone”. A motorist (52) from Germany skidded on a soaked road in St. Jakob im Rosental on Tuesday afternoon. The car hit the embankment, overturned, was thrown back onto the road and came to a rest lying on its roof. The driver was injured in the accident and had to be taken to the LKH Villach by the rescue team.

But not only the Ferlach fire brigade had to be deployed on Tuesday. “Several traffic accidents occurred in Carinthia,” the state alarm and warning center said. In addition, some trees have blocked the roads in Carinthia. “But other than that everything is going very smoothly.”
