A head-on collision between a car and an ambulance took place in Carinthia on Tuesday afternoon. The accident took place on Gailtalstrasse B111 in the municipality of Dellach an der Gail. Four people were injured, including the 80-year-old patient in the ambulance.
A 57-year-old man from the Spittal district drove his car too far to the left on the Gailtalstrasse between Höfling and St. Daniel in a long right bend and collided head-on with an oncoming emergency vehicle.
The patient was injured
The two paramedics from Gailtal, the 80-year-old patient from Lienz and the 57-year-old driver were injured. The injured were taken to the Villach LKH by rescue operation.
Significant material damage was caused to both vehicles. The Gailtalstrasse was closed in the vicinity of the accident site for about an hour. A diversion was set up by the police. The St. Daniel and Dellach an der Gail fire brigades were present.
